Lace Hill Pupil Parliament

At Lace Hill Academy, we believe that our pupils should be at the heart of all decisions that are made about our school and that every child’s voice should be heard.

Each year, we have a Pupil Parliament made up of 12 class MPs. These children write a speech and are elected democratically. They are in role for the full academic year.

The Pupil Parliament meets weekly to discuss ideas about how to make a difference to our school and the community. They then plan how to put pupils' ideas into action.

List of services

We believe our Pupil Parliament:
- Encourages pupils to be active citizens in their school and local community.
- Allows pupils to take responsibility for the school.
- Enable pupils to develop self-esteem and confidence.
- Enables pupils to understand the power of learning and supports them to develop new tools for learning.
- Allows pupils to make a difference.
