Lace Hill Academy

Project Shade

The aim of this page is to relaunch fundraising for Lace Hill Academy and to get the parents and friends of the school involved.

Our first major fundraising project is – Project Shade.  The playground and sports field has no shade whatsoever, so we are looking to install up to three 5m x 5m shade sails which will mean the children can be outside when the sun is shining down.

These shades will cost £9,000 so we need help!

Fundraising Initiatives this half term:

The Best Easter Bonnet Competition – this was an amazing success and the creativity and enthusiasm of the children of Lace Hill Academy was a wonder to behold.  Photos coming soon - but as you can see, our fundraising thermometer has already moved by a whopping £162!!

Year 3 parent - walking for Project Shade!

The parents of Lace Hill Academy are second to none and Year 3 Mum, Vicky Stephenson, is no exception.  In order to help raise funds for Project Shade (our fundraising initiative to purchase much needed sun shade sails for the playground), she and her daughter Faith have pledged to walk 200km in April.  Vicki says "I'm a keen walker myself, so thought I'd turn my hobby into some good for the school.  Faith immediately decided she wanted to be part of it too, and I'm looking forward to achieving this goal along with the help from my daughter".  If you'd like to support Vicki and Faith in their efforts, please contact the school and pledge some money to spur them on.  Vicki will be providing regular updates and photos. – did you know that just about every online purchase you make could help benefit LHA and our Project Shade?  We’ve set ourselves up at and all you have to do is visit the site, sign up and activate the donation reminder button.  Then any qualifying online purchase you make, could be £s to the school at NO extra cost to you!  Full details of what to do can be found by clicking here.

Shop at Tesco in Buckingham?  Whichever project gets the most blue tokens each month gets £1,500 towards their goal.  Look out for Staying Cool in School and feed your blue tokens into there.

Other ideas that you can do to raise money for Project Shade.  Have you ever wanted to throw yourself out of a perfectly good aeroplane?  Hinton Skydiving is a year round skydiving facility just up the road from here.  Visit Skydive for Charity - Skydive Hinton for details on what you need to do.  Make sure you send us photos of the occasion so that we can big you up on here.

Don't forget, if you have any great ideas for fundraising efforts, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Miss Rachel Moroney in Year 4.  She would love to hear from you and support you in your efforts.
