At Lace Hill Academy, we recognise that the social development of our pupils plays a significant part in their ability to learn and achieve. A significant number of our KS2 children volunteer as a Play leader for the younger children on a weekly basis. Our Play leaders have a key responsibility in school. When on duty, they help organise and initiate games, help resolve playground disputes and finally help children to join in with games and make friends.
This scheme gives both the older and younger children the opportunity to socialise, cooperate and communicate in the wider school community. Play leaders model exemplary standards of behaviour, promoting a strong moral foundation with all our younger children. Our play leaders wear their vibrant yellow bibs with pride and thrive in their roles.
